Background

LitiPay, a Golden Pear venture, provides personal injury victims with the option of receiving an advance on their lawsuit settlement. Many personal injury victims don’t have the luxury to wait out a case and will be tempted to take the first settlement offer from an insurance company even if it does not fully cover the costs of their accident. LitiPay helps those victims stay in their legal case in order to get the best possible settlement. Its parent company, GPF, had marketed its service to law firms which then refer financing options to plaintiffs.

As GPF aimed to become a national provider of pre-settlement funding, it was looking to develop a B2C brand that would have the potential for national recognition in a nascent category.
